AROUND BINDIGANAVILE

Since Bindiganavile is less than an 2 hours journey from Bangalore and has excellent Lodging facility and if intimation is given in advance there is no problem to arrange for the food, one can plan a couple of days stay at Bindiganavile and visit many places which are few Kms drive from Bindiganavile.

Plan A

Kambadahalli – 3Kms – 5mins
There is an Anjaneya Temple on a small hillock. Also one can see a Jain Basadi & it dates back to 8th Century. The monument is protected by the Archeological Survey of India as a "national monument". There is a 54 Ft. stone pillar and on top of it one can find statue of Lord Bramha.

Honnavara – 4Kms – 6 mins (1Km from Kambadahalli)
Has an excellent Lakshmikantha Temple.

Shravanabelagola – 22 Kms – 27 mins
Who does not know Statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali, it is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Jainism.

Adichunchangiri – 35 Kms – 35 mins
There is a beautiful huge temple of Kalabhyraveshwara on a small hillock.

Nagamangala – 19 Kms – 23mins
12th century temple of Saumyakeshava Temple built by Hoysala can be seen. It’s a Trikutachala having Keshava, Krishna and Naarasimha

Melukote - 47Kms – 55 mins ( 28 Kms from Nagamangala)
Yet another pilgrimage center of Srivaishnavas. We have the world famous Cheluvanarayana swamy temple and on the hillock there is Yoga Narasimha swamy Temple.

Thondanoor – 54 Kms – 60 mins ( 7 Kms from Melukote)
This is the place where Acharya Ramanuja stayed for 14 years and built a big lake. There are temples of Nambi Narayana, Parthasarathy and Narasimha, one should not miss Acharya’s moorthy @ the Narasimha temple which generally is closed and you should approach Archaka of Parthasarathy temple who would come and open it.

Kalhalli (KR Pet Taluk) – 68 Kms – 1 hour 30 mins
1000 plus year old 18’ Bhoo Varahaswamy temple.

Hosaholalu – 60 Kms – 1 hour 15 mins (10kms from Kalhalli)
In 1250 C.E. Hoysala Empire built an excellent temple for Lakshminarayana .

Nonavinakere – 42 kms – 54 mins
There are two famous temples one is Betarya Swamy & the other temple is a Trikutachala where Keshava, Venugopala and Narasimha is there which is built during the Chalukya dynasty.

Vignasanthe – 42 kms – 54 mins ( 3kms from Nonavinakere)
Typical Hoysala architecture thrikootachala temple of 13th century with Channakeshava, Lakshminarasimha & a beautiful Venugopala. Please take the Archaka from Nonavinakere.

Kadaba – 73 kms – 1 hour 32 mins (38Kms from Nonavinakere)
Rama Lakshmi Janardhana temple is located at Kadaba.

Nuggehalli – 43 kms – 43 mins
Beautiful Lakshminarasimha temple was built in 1246 C.E. by the Hoysalas is a treat to watch.
